CLOUD GATE Outdoor Performance
07/28(Sun.) 19:00 NTCH Main Plaza, Taipei City
08/03(Sat.) 19:00 Chiayi City Municipal Stadium
Hailed by the international press as "one of the biggest dance events on earth," Cloud Gate's annual outdoor performance this year presents "WAVES." CHENG Tsung-lung, the Artistic Director and choreographer of Cloud Gate, and Daito MANABE, a renowned Japanese digital artist, together explore what WAVES, in the forms of various energies, could transmit from the body, in designated spaces across spatial surfaces, mediums and humans.
Set out to collect dancing body movements as digital data, metamorphose through artificial intelligence, CHENG and MANABE explore with dancers the boundaries of human movements in cognition, and provide an alternative perspective of how we see the world around us.
