In order to protect your online privacy and safeguard your personal information, the Cloud Gate Foundation (“Foundation”) hereby declares the following statements to help you understand how our website (“Website”) collects, utilizes, and protects the personal information you provide to us. Please read with care. 

1. What personal information is collected? 

You do not need to enter personal information to go onto the Website. The Foundation will not collect your personal data without your knowledge or consent. 

You will only receive future notifications from Cloud Gate when you tick the agree box. No notifications will be sent to you if the box is not ticked. 

In addition, companies placing their advertisements on the Website or other websites connected to the Website by outbound links may collect your personal data. The Foundation will not share your information with these websites, and will not be responsible for the claims, usage guidelines, policies, and content disclosed therein. The privacy policy of the Foundation is not applicable to the information you provide to other linked websites, with which the Foundation does not bear joint liability. These advertisers and linked websites have their own privacy protection policies, which the Foundation encourages you to review carefully. 

Aside from providing personal information in order to receive further notifications, you might also offer information, such as your name and email address, to application services provided by social networking websites associated with Cloud Gate. The latter type of information is not covered by the privacy protection policy of the Foundation. 

2. How the Website gathers and utilizes general aggregate browsing information 

The Foundation records, gathers, aggregates, and retains browsing information of all anonymous users online, such as the IP address of the user’s machine, browser type, length of visits to the Website, browsing record, and page hits. The data are only used for analyzing website traffic and investigating internet user behavior, the result of which will be applied to designing website content and marketing promotions that suit viewers’ preferences, so as to better the quality of our Website. The Foundation only analyzes the data in a collective manner, and does not tie them with your personal information. 

3. Regarding the use of cookies

Like many websites nowadays, some of the web pages on the Website might use a standard technique called cookies to collect your user experiences with the Website. This is used to evaluate the popularity of our web pages and remind you to revisit the Website, so as to improve your internet experience with us.

The use of cookies is a technique which allows communication between a website server and a user’s browser. It may store some information on your computer, but you are free to change your cookie settings in your browser any time.

The Foundation respects everyone’s privacy. All personal information obtained from the Website will only be used for the purpose and within the scope originally intended inside the Foundation. The Foundation will not use or disclose your personal information to a third party for any other purpose without first seeking your consent, unless authorized or required by law. 

The Foundation may use your personal information as follows: if you agree to receive future notifications, the Website will use the personal information you enter (e.g., name and email address) to send you promotional emails and perform other necessary data analyses. The Foundation will use your input information only in ways to provide better services and design quality activities.

5. Website policy for sharing personal information with third parties

The Foundation will never sell, exchange, or rent any of your personal information to other parties or individuals for their promotional use. However, under this policy, the Foundation will share your personal information with third parties in the following two occasions:  

(1) To provide you with services or special offers (e.g., coupons) from a third party. The Foundation will state clearly during the promotional period and notify you before data collection. You are free to accept or decline the special service or offer. 

(2) To send you business information or emails upon prior consent. The information or email will include the header of the Foundation, and will provide you with a description of the unsubscription method and the unsubscribe link. 

6. Website policy for removal of personal information

You can terminate our use of your personal information any time. If you plan to do so, please contact our Website service staff, and we will remove any of your saved personal information from our database as soon as possible. This will only apply to the personal information you enter through the Website, and will not apply to the information you enter through application services provided by associated social networking websites. 

7. User information safety and self-protection

Every effort is made at the Foundation to protect your personal information, to which only relevant staff members have access. To protect your personal information from unauthorized access, the Website also securely encrypts your information requested by other web pages and sensitive credit card information through standard internet security mechanisms, such as SSL pinning. However, there is still a possibility that your information could be accessed by a third party while in transit.

8. Special statement regarding children and people without legal capacity 

The Website does not knowingly collect online data from children and minors. If we learn that we have received personal data from a child or a minor, we will remove this information from our database immediately. However, we encourage all parents or guardians (including other legally authorized representatives) to participate in online activities with their children and minors. All children and minors may only use our web pages for online trading or other legally permitted actions with the consent and active involvement of their parents or guardians. If you are a child or young adult under the age of 20 years, you must ask your parent or legal guardian for approval in order to complete some of the online transactions.

Any content detailed in this policy is aimed to regulate the collection and use of all personal data. The Foundation reserves the right to amend the policy at any time. The effective date of the most recent policy is the last revision date as announced by the Website. The latest update is 2020/1/1.
