10th Anniversary of 13 TONGUES Bangka Free Outdoor Performance

10th Anniversary of 13 TONGUES
Bangka Free Outdoor Performance

10/24(Sat.) 19:30 Bangka Park, Taipei

Marking a decade since its premiere, 13 TONGUES returns to where it all began—not merely as a performance, but as a homecoming to local memory. Sponsored by Lungshan Temple for the opening of Bangka Park, Cloud Gate Artistic Director CHENG Tsung-lung brings 13 TONGUES back home for a special free outdoor peformance.

Inspired by childhood memories of Bangka and tales of legendary 1960s street storytellers “Thirteen Tongues”
, CHENG transformed local lore into dance. Blending Taiwanese folk songs, Taoist chants, and electronica, 13 TONGUES brings the vibrant clamour of street life to the stage.

Having reached over 100 performances worldwide over the past decade, 13 TONGUES returns to its origins for its 10th anniversary. As dancers move through the historic streets of Bangka and Longshan Temple, the sights, sounds, and spirit of the dance return to the soil where they were born.
