The Puppet & Its Double Theater
The Happy Prince (Cancelled)

The touching children’s story by the famous British writer Oscar Wilde is told at an easy pace using puppets and poems. After its encounter with the weeping Happy Prince, the naive swallow sees the truth and happiness in life.

As one of the most popular plays in the classical repertoire of the Theater, The Happy Prince caused a great sensation when touring to Singapore, China (Shanghai), and Canada. Puppets modified from traditional Czech rod marionettes, along with a delicately designed revolving puppet stage, create a lively, fairytale-like atmosphere. Two actors, each playing a dozen roles, engage the audience with animated performances of singing, acting, and puppetry. This artful rendition of the classical piece brings literature to the stage, triggering us to think more deeply about the values of giving and receiving in life.
