Performosa Theatre - Future World Hypothesis

Performosa Theatre - Future World Hypothesis
In a future threatened by rising sea levels, the relationship between humans and nature faces unprecedented challenges. "Future World Hypothesis," developed by Performosa Theatre, Australian playwright Chi Vu, and actors from both Taiwan and Australia, features designs by Filipino artist Leeroy New. Centered around the South China Sea, this production breaks all existing rules and norms, navigating between the ocean and the land, crafting a journey of coexistence and sustainability between humans and nature.
In the play, a young girl becomes one of the last hopes. Amid the apocalypse, she traverses submerged cities, searching for clues left by her father. Through her eyes, the audience glimpses the underwater world and the life forms dwelling there, including a dying whale. These creatures remind us that death is not the end, but the beginning of another form of life.
"Future World Hypothesis" explores the relationship between humans and nature. The audience will follow various "non-human and non-animal" characters on adventures, crossing oceans and lands, facing survival challenges, and seeking rays of hope. This production is not just a vision of the future, but a reflection on humanity's fate.
