This spring, Cloud Gate Theater invites you to step onto the grass and enjoy sunshine, movement, and good food. For two days only, the “Lawn Party” opens a new rhythmic space for your body and senses, featuring three signature experiences.
The Lawn Party is a family-friendly outdoor gathering featuring dance workshops, local flavors, and hands-on play experiences. Whether you're looking to stretch, picnic, or share joyful moments in nature with your kids, there’s a place for you here.

Step onto the grassy hillside of Cloud Gate Theater and join Tjimur Dance Theatre from southern Taiwan in a communal experience of the traditional Paiwan Zemiyan Four-Step Dance.
"We are Kacalisian—people who live on the slope. Our villages overlook the mountains and echo with the voices of our ancestors."
For the Paiwan people, dancing is inseparable from singing. As songs begin, bodies move instinctively. The Four-Step Dance, passed down through generations, follows a steady, flowing rhythm—step by step, breath by breath.
Forming a large circle, dancers join hands and stretch their arms wide, believing: the more open the gesture, the more people you can reach. And when many hands come together, so do hearts—and strength returns.

In the golden light of late afternoon, Shimmering Production invites you into a gentle journey of movement and connection. Come as you are—take a hand, take a breath, and join this joyful celebration of the body.
Through an inclusive workshop format, Shimmering Production leads participants of all ages to awaken their own rhythm. With no fixed steps or expectations, simple and intuitive prompts invite each person to explore breath, gravity, and space in their own way.
This is an invitation to move, to play, and to discover—how your body dances when it’s free to feel, imagine, and connect.

Tjimur Dance Theatre is Taiwan's first professional dance troupe that focuses on the contemporary Paiwan people. Founded by artistic director Ljuzem MADILJIN in 2006 with Baru MADILJIN as the dance director and choreographer, the troupe is devoted to interpreting contemporary experiences through ancient ballads. The troupe integrates song with dance and uses song as a guide for dance moves to display the exceptional bodily expressions of Paiwan culture, exhibiting a unique style among the contemporary dance troupes of Taiwan.
Throughout the 18 years since its establishment, Tjimur Dance Theatre has continued to organize annual residencies, guided tours of their community, performances at schools, and theater performances, exploring the different ways of promoting art in Taiwan. The troupe also puts on the Tjimur Arts Festival, an initiative to introduce international artists to the Indigenous community in Taiwan. For Tjimur, the performing arts are not limited to the stage but also exist in Indigenous communities and everyday life. Tjimur Dance Theatre aims to be a gateway to Paiwan culture.
