LIMA Five: Selected pieces by the Bulareyaung Dance Company

“a tjumaq si ljazuan nua nasi, semu qeljev ta paljing ti Bulareyaung.” 

This Paiwanese sentence means “Family is the place for running the relay race of life, and Bulareyaung opened the door leading to it.”

Bulareyaung Pagarlava founded the Bulareyaung Dance Company after returning to his hometown Taitung in 2014. He said, “I knew I was insane. I dared to dream even though I had no money. But it was precisely because I feared that it would always stay a dream that I went for it!”   

In the blink of an eye, five years have passed since the founding of the team. Thanks to all the support from friends and society, they can now stand firmly on the east coast of Taiwan, striving as a professional company. 

LIMA Five is a gathering from the east coast, using dance to outline the time-and-space history of the deeply-felt daily details that the team has braved through along its growing path since its founding. As this is also the fifth year for the troupe to perform at the Cloud Gate Theater, they would like to invite everyone to come and enjoy the generous hospitality of the aborigines and get into the warm and joyous spirit of thanksgiving while witnessing how the members allow art to grow in their daily lives. 

All the works that have been generated In the past five years clearly map the route that the troupe has conquered. This time, the team will use three days and six dance pieces to lead the audience into the “life on the east coast”, and invite everyone to sing together the best songs of life.
