The Golden Bough TheatreMemory Island Acting / Rehearsal Workshop Series

The workshop series is an acting audition for the musical Memory Island held by the Golden Bough Theatre through a three-year art-making project (2019-2021). During the earlier stage of the Acting Workshop series, Director WANG Rong-yu and the Golden Bough team will use an elimination system to lead the training program of body aesthetics for the musical. At the later stage of the Rehearsal Workshop series, lessons will focus on work development, rehearsal, and production tests. Attendees will participate in a trial performance of selected scenes from the musical and have the chance to become a premiere actor next year (2021). 

Acting Workshop series

• Prospective attendees: Ages 20 and up, with or without theater performance experiences.  
• Registration method: Interested individuals are invited to sign up online and will be qualified to attend the workshop series after passing the audition. 
• Content: Body aesthetics training 
• Date & Time: 19:00-22:00 Tuesdays and Thursdays between 2020/09/15 and 2020/09/24 (four sessions in total)  

Rehearsal Workshop series

• Attendees: Main actors/actresses of Memory Island and those who successfully completed the Acting Workshop series. 
• Content: Work development and rehearsal
• Date & Time: 19:00-22:00 Tuesdays and Thursdays between 2020/09/29 and 2020/11/19; 19:00-22:00 every evening between 2020/11/23 and 2020/11/27; 19:00-22:00 on 2020/11/30 (Mon.) and 2020/12/01 (Tue.) (23 sessions in total)

Trial performance of Memory Island

• Venue: The Cloud Gate Theater
• Tech & dress rehearsal: 9:00-22:00 everyday between 2020/12/02 and 2020/12/04
• Performances: 15:00 on 2020/12/05 (Sat.) and 2020/12/06 (Sun.) (2 sessions in total)

Please note that actors who attend the Rehearsal Workshop series are also required to participate in the tech rehearsal, the dress rehearsal, and the trial performance of Memory Island. Rehearsal and performance costs will be covered by the Theatre.
