Cloud Gate Theater Welcomes French Musical Comedy ZZAJ – The Crazy Jazz Radio in Its Asian Premiere

As part of its 10th anniversary, Cloud Gate Theater presents the Asian premiere of the French musical comedy ZZAJ – The Crazy Jazz Radio, on stage September 20–21.

Created and performed by Augustin Ledieu and Matthias Lauriot Prévost, the show transforms a chaotic 1960s recording studio into a hilarious journey through music history. Using looping techniques, the duo conjures the sound of a full jazz band, blending live performance, improvisation, and comedy.

Since its debut at the Festival OFF Avignon in 2021, ZZAJ has returned for four consecutive years, toured across France, and attracted more than 10,000 spectators. The production was nominated for the Trophées de la Comédie Musicale, with Le Figaro calling it “both hilarious and astonishing,” and TSF JAZZ hailing it as “a must-see.”

In collaboration with director Sandrine Righeschi, Duo des Cimes merges jazz’s improvisational spirit with the clown’s philosophy of failure, offering audiences an 80-minute celebration of laughter, music, and resilience.
