Cathay Financial Holdings has supported Cloud Gate’s outreach program Dancing with Cloud Gate since 2001, bringing world-class performances to schools and communities and reaching more than 200,000 audience members.

Curated by Cloud Gate’s Artistic Director, CHENG Tsung-lung, this program invites local communities to interact with Cloud Gate’s dancers in public spaces, weaving excerpts from Cloud Gate’s iconic works into familiar melodies, breaking down the boundary between performers and audiences, and sharing the pure joy of dance.

Dear friends, this time Cloud Gate is not far away in theaters, but right here in your neighborhoods!

Performances

Audience Guidelines and Reminders
1. Approx. 60 minutes without intermission.
2. Please be seated on the ground. If needed, you are welcome to bring your own cushion for comfort.
3. To respect intellectual property rights and the quality of the performance, photography, video recording, and audio recording are strictly prohibited without permission.
4. The program is subject to change.
5. Please have your registration confirmation SMS with you at the venue. Admission will begin 30 minutes before the performance.
6. Official photo and video recording will be active during the performance. If you have any privacy concerns, please inform our staff upon admission.

Living with You, Dancing with Us
With the support of Cathay Financial Holdings, Cloud Gate dances into local communities, bridging the distance between performers and audiences.

In the past years, Cloud Gate dancers took the opportunities to spent time with locals while touring. From a ceramicist, they discovered the similarity between pottery making and dancing; from a chef, they learned how to cook comfort food for both their body and soul; and by teaching dance to young kids, they were also heartily inspired. In these videos, you will find that beauty is not only unfolded on stage but lived through the hard work of local people.
